Czech Beauty
Before there was an Instagram, I used to hear all the time, that Czech girls are the prettiest in the world. Well, I bet it’s being said in almost every country on every continent.
Now, as the world is more connected than ever we can get advice on how to look like a Parissiene, California Babe, Korean Beauty and many many more. That being said, Czech girls are getting inspired by all these super global trends that we tend to forget our own identity. So today, in the event of celebration of the Czech heritage, I decided to create a post that talks about what defines Czech beauty.
Hair
Most of us don’t put too much effort into styling our hair. When we wash it, we pretty much leave it dry naturally or blow dry. No special blow out or curling it with the curling iron. The most used tool I personally think it’s a hair straightener just because I know so many people who have mixed structure of hair so they kind of just unify the look. Most commonly people have wavy or straight hair.
As the care goes, I can speak from a perspective of my own and my friends and that is nothing very extra - natural shampoo, conditioner, occasional hair mask or coconut oil treatment and heat protecting sprays. I also like to wash my hair with chamomile tea.
That being said, if you want that Czech effortless chic, simplify your hair routine and just let your locks roam free.
Skin care
As the skin goes, that really varies according the skin type and age. In general, and again summarising information from the people I know, it’s doing the basics instead of long skin care routines.
Girls go for higher quality cream, usually by one of those pharmacy brands or the mid-range line in Sephora, good eye cream, occasional mask and serum. There is also quite a lot of girls making their masks at home which I think it’s the best ways to get fresh hydration full of vitamins to your skin. And cleaning skin usually takes face soap or micellar water and toner.
Make-up
In general, I believe make-up routines are very subtle. Again, it is all about simplicity and practicality and natural appearance. Of course, social media shuffles the game a lot, but I don’t really believe in this cookie cutter look and rather celebrate the real beauty and individuality. So for the day, there is some BB or CC cream or light coverage foundation, little bit of blush, mascara and tiny bit of eyeliner. I think there is some attention on the brows so they look naturally fluffy and of course, glowing skin is the key. Lip balm is a must, quite often tinted one or lipstick, usually worn without the lip liner.
For night, you can add little bit of contour and eye shadows maybe be little bit heavier on the lipstick. There is a lot of girls that get lash extensions, but not so many who are wearing fake eyelashes on a daily basis.
So, If I was to describe the essence of Czech Beauty, it’s all about very natural look, nothing too complicated. We do care of ourselves but tend to have a little bit sporty look when it comes to make-up, we love to use natural beauty hacks like the coconut oil, aloe vera, tea tree oil, honey etc.. We don't like to look very theatrical in our make-up and definitely we don’t like to spend a lot of time in the bathroom getting ready.
And since the best explanaition is by example, here are some Czech beauties, that I consider as a great representation of what I am talking about.
